Our room was basic but comfortable, which suited us just fine. We loved starting our mornings in the spacious kitchen area with the free bread selection-perfect for a little island-style breakfast. One highlight was the welcoming lounge with plenty of sofas for relaxation and soft tunes playing, setting a nice vibe, especially in the evenings when live music would occasionally fill the air. The location also made it easy to explore the Great Taste Trail-the perfect spot for family bike rides, where you can enjoy the beautiful Nelson scenery together. Royce at the front desk was a gem, providing us with great maps and ideas for easy walks, making our stay both informative and enjoyable. YHA is a solid choice for families needing a comfortable base with access to fun activities.
