Our room was basic but comfortable, which suited us just fine. We loved starting our mornings in the spacious kitchen area with the free bread selection—perfect for a little island-style breakfast. One highlight was the welcoming lounge with plenty of sofas for relaxation and soft tunes playing, setting a nice vibe, especially in the evenings when live music would occasionally fill the air. The location also made it easy to explore the Great Taste Trail—the perfect spot for family bike rides, where you can enjoy the beautiful Nelson scenery together. Royce at the front desk was a gem, providing us with great maps and ideas for easy walks, making our stay both informative and enjoyable. YHA is a solid choice for families needing a comfortable base with access to fun activities.
